Cambodian PM Receives S. Korean DPM

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met yesterday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea H.E. Hwang Woo-yea, on the sidelines of the Asian African Summit in Indonesia.

According to the National Television of Cambodia (TVK), Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. Hwang Woo-yea discussed different topics, especially about some 10,000 Cambodian-Korean children.

Cambodia To Open Embassy in Egypt

Cambodia will further promote its diplomatic ties and cooperation with Egypt by establishing its embassy in Cairo, Egypt, in the near future.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Hor Namhong will soon visit Egypt and the Cambodian Embassy is expected to be opened during the visit, said Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, while meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, H.E. Ibrahim Mahlab, on the sidelines of the Asian African Summit held yesterday afternoon in Jakarta, Indonesia.

H.E. Ibrahim Mahlab informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of the normalization of situation in Egypt, and was committed to further tighten the relationship and cooperation between the two countries.

Cambodian PM Attends the Opening of Asian African Summit in Indonesia

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, attended the opening ceremony of the Asian African held this morning in Jakarta, Indonesia under the theme of Strengthening South-South Cooperation to Promote World Peace and Prosperity.

According to the National Television of Cambodia (TVK), Samdech Techo Hun Sen and other Heads of State/Government and high level delegates from over 120 countries in Asia and Africa were warmly welcomed by H.E. Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia.

Cambodia Breaks Guinness World Record for Largest Madison Dance

Cambodia broke the Guinness World Record for the largest Madison dance with 2,015 participants, announced this afternoon in the cultural province of Siem Reap by visiting Ms. Seyda Subasi Gemici, who represented Guinness World Records.

This largest ever Madison dance was organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) on the occasion of Angkor Sankranta 2015 to celebrate the Khmer Traditional New Year from April 14 to 16.

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen preside over this morning in Siem Reap province the opening ceremony of Angkor Sankranta 2015 organized to celebrate the Khmer Traditional New Year, taking place this year from April 14 to 16, 2015.

Cambodian “Nom Ansorm” Earns Guinness World Record

H.E. Khim Bunsong (R, pic.1), Governor of Siem Reap province, receives from Ms. Seyda Subasi Gemici, who represented Guinness World Records, a certificate presenting the four-ton Nom Ansorm, Cambodian traditional sticky rice cake, cooked especially for the 2015 Angkor Sankranta celebration, with the record title of largest sticky rice cake, in a ceremony held on Monday afternoon in Siem Reap province.

Nine New Members Elected for NEC

Nine new members were elected for National Election Committee (NEC) by Cambodian Members of Parliament (MPs) this morning.

They were approved by 113/117 of MPs attending in the 4^th Plenary Session of National Assembly (NA) held this morning under the chairmanship of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the NA.

Of the newly-appointed members, four are from the Ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), and four from the main opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP). One member is a “neutral” candidate.
