PM Hun Sen Receives ADB President

image001Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia received image003visiting President of the Asian Development Bank H.E. Takehiko Nakao, this morning at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters that H.E. Takehiko Nakao noted the remarkable development in Cambodia if compared to his previous visit in 2001.

H.E. Takehiko Nakao praised Cambodia for the political stability, economic growth, poverty reduction, good education system, good investment environment, and so on.

He further underlined that ADB was very proud of its partnership with Cambodia and hoped to continue working with Cambodia in different sectors including public reform, rural development, and regional integration.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed profound thanks to ADB for its support, especially in the poverty reduction.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister said Cambodia’s current progress, particularly in poverty alleviation, is inseparable from the ADB’s support and partnership. Cambodia will continue its best to maintain the economic growth at 7 percent on average, and the inflation rate at below 5 percent, as well as to reduce the poverty rate of at least 1 percent annually.
