President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic H.E. Choummaly Sayasone began here this morning his two-day state visit in Cambodia, at the invitation of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
Upon his arrival, H.E. Choummaly Sayasone and his accompanied members were received in a royal audience by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace.
On the occasion, the Cambodian monarch expressed warm welcome to the high-ranking Lao delegation, stressing that the visit will further deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries for the mutual interests of both countries and peoples.
For his part, H.E. Choummaly Sayasone expressed thanks to Cambodia for its warm hospitality for himself and his delegation, and praised the Kingdom for its full peace, political stability and rapid development under the cool shade of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.
He also took the opportunity to invite His Majesty the King to pay a state visit to Laos at an appropriate time.
After the royal audience, H.E. Choummaly Sayasone laid wreaths and paid tribute to the Cambodian fallen combatants at the Independence Monument, and then to Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh (Cambodian late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk) at the Royal Statue near the Independence Monument.
