Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held talks this morning with Prof. Choi Oe-chool, a senior expert of New Village Movement Development of the Republic of Korea (RoK), on the sidelines of the ASEAN-RoK Commemorative Summit held on Dec. 11-12 in Busan, RoK.
According to the National Television of Cambodia (TVK), the meeting mainly focused on the inclusion of New Village Movement and rural development in school curriculum, scholarship program, and the establishment of a new university.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen requested Prof. Choi Oe-chool to help preparing school curriculum on the New Village Movement and rural development for three schools of agriculture in Cambodia, and thanked him for granting five scholarships to Cambodian students to study in RoK.
The Cambodian premier commissioned H.E. Chea Sophara, Minister of Rural Development, to select five students for the scholarships.
For the establishment of a new university, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recommended Prof. Choi Oe-chool that the project should be done through Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)’s grant aid or concessional loan.
The prime minister also added that he will raise this issue when he meets with RoK’s president and KOICA’s president.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Prof. Choi Oe-chool are scheduled to meet again in February next year in Cambodia.
