Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here this morning at the Peace Palace visiting H.E. Rady Mom, the first Cambodian-American Legislator of Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 18th Middlesex district.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, H.E. Rady Mom told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of his homeland visit and sought recommendations from the prime minister.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said no school teaches us to be a legislator, but the work itself teaches us everyday while the effective work is based on the information on hand.
H.E. Rady Mom, 45 year-old physical therapist, has won strong support to be the first Cambodian-American state representative of Lowell, a city of Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. He moved to the United States at the age 12. He has been active in the Cambodian community for years, including the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, Angkor Dance Troupe and Khmer Cultural Council.
During his stay in Cambodia, H.E. Rady Mom has also met with H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and other senior officials as well as those of the opposition party.
