During the meeting, H.E. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf said the French government is happy with the political agreement between the two leading Cambodian political parties and wished to see them cooperate and work together in the NA, H.E. Keo Pisith, Head of Cabinet of Samdech Heng Samrin told reporters.
Both France and the European Union would like to see the political stability, peace and prosperity in Cambodia and they are ready to contribute to the country’s reform program, underlined H.E. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, pledging to encourage more French as well as European tourists and investors to visit and do business in Cambodia.
The French diplomat also expressed his commitment to expand the cooperation between the two countries, particularly in human resource training, infrastructure construction, trade and investment promotion, during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and France since they established their diplomatic ties in the 1950s. He also expressed profound thanks to France for its support to Cambodia in various sectors.
The bilateral trade between Cambodia and France last year reached over US$200 million.
