The construction of this butterfly-shape flyover is image004aimed to contribute to solving the traffic congestion in the capital city.

In June, a 266-meter-long and 8 to 10-meter-wide underpass, which is part of the Stung Meanchey Flyover Construction Project, was put in use.

The first two pass-over bridges are Kbal Thnal Flyover along Preah Monivong Blvd adjacent to Preah Monivong Bridge, and the January 7 Flyover, at the intersection of Pet Lok Sang (Monks’ Hospital) traffic lights.

According to H.E. Pa Socheatevong, Governor of Phnom Penh, two more flyovers, another underpass and a pavement for pedestrians will be constructed in Phnom Penh to respond to the increasing traffic jams in the capital city.

The two additional flyovers will be built along the Russian Federation Boulevard, at Tuol Kok traffic lights and at Hanoi Street traffic lights, while the underpass will be constructed at Canadia traffic lights. For the pavement for pedestrians, it will be built along the riverside, from tourism information center near the Royal Palace to Preah Monivong Bridge (Chbar Ampov), he added.
