Cambodian PM Departs for the 2nd MRC Summit in Ho Chi Minh City

image002Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, left here this morning for Vietnam to attend the 2nd Summit of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) to take place on Apr. 4-5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The summit will be held under the theme of “Water, Energy and Food Security in the Context of Climate Change for the Mekong River Basin”, according to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his regional counterparts will discuss a number of issues on the opportunities and challenges of the Mekong basin and roles of the MRC for sustainable development and regional cooperation to promote sustainable use and development of the Mekong River in the context of growing demand for natural resources for development and of climate change, it pointed out.

The Cambodian premier was accompanied by H.E. Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, and Chairman of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment, and other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
