PM Hun Sen Meets Vietnamese and Lao Front Delegations

image004Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held image006separate talks here yesterday evening with visiting delegations of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee led by their Presidents H.E. Nguyen Thien Nhan and H.E. Phandouangchit Vongsa, respectively.

H.E. Nguyen Thien Nhan and H.E. Phandouangchit Vongsa conveyed greetings from their respective Prime Ministers to Samdech Techo Hun Sen and congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia on its achievements in recent years, H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the meetings.

They also wished Cambodia more development and prosperity under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, added the assistant.

For his part, Samdech Hun Sen thanked H.E. Nguyen Thien Nhan and H.E. Phandouangchit Vongsa for their presence at the celebration of the 35th Founding Anniversary of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM), and the inauguration ceremony of the “December 2” Memorial Monument to commemorate the establishment of the SFDCM, formerly known as the United Front for National Salvation of Kampuchea, founded on Dec. 2, 1978 at Choeung Khlou village, “December 2” commune, Snuol district, Kratie province, to liberate the country from the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.

“Without ‘December 2’, there is neither ‘January 7’ nor Today,” underlined the Cambodian prime minister.

During their stay in Cambodia, H.E. Nguyen Thien Nhan and H.E. Phandouangchit Vongsa were also received in a royal audience by His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and paid a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia and President of SFDCM.
