Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here this morning at the Peace Palace visiting Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms. Christine Lagarde.
During the talks, Ms. Christine Lagarde expressed her appreciation to the political and macro- economic stability in Cambodia, and congratulated the Cambodian People’s Party on its success in the national election in July, H.E. IengSophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the meeting.
Ms. Lagarde also highly valued the Royal Government of Cambodia’s rectangular strategy, which focuses on health, education, and finance, the key factors for the future of Cambodian people, in particular the youths.
In addition, the visiting IMF managing director expressed her optimism over Cambodia’s economic growth, stressing that it would reach more than 7 percent. She further affirmed that IMF would continue to support Cambodia as a partner, and encouraged the RGC to continue the financial reform.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen laid stress on the significance of RGC-IMF partnership and thanked this international financial institution for its support and recommendations to Cambodia
