Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received in the afternoon of October 15 at the Peace Palace visiting H.E. Ms. Yin Yicui, Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress.
H.E. Ms. Yin Yicui informed the Cambodian premier of her talks with Phnom Penh Municipal Governor H.E. Pa Socheat Vong, during which both sides reviewed the past cooperation between Phnom Penh and Shanghai and discussed the bilateral cooperation plan in the next five years, reported H.E. Ieng Sophalet, assistant to the Cambodian premier.
In addition, both sides agreed to further deepen the cooperation between the two cities in the fields of tourism, culture, education and economy, H.E. Ms. Yin Yicui added.
H.E. Ms. Yin Yicui also said she had inspected bridge construction projects conducted by Shanghai Construction Group in Cambodia.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his support to the two cities’ cooperation, encouraging both sides to strengthen their relationship and cooperation. He highly appreciated the Shanghai Construction Group’s works and asked H.E. Ms. Yin Yicui to encourage more Shanghai’s investors and tourists to do business and visit Cambodia.
Phnom Penh and Shanghai established their sister city relationship in October 2008.
