Cambodia, China Celebrate 55th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

image001Cambodia and China celebrated here yesterday evening the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

The celebration was presided over by Cambodia’s National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Hor Namhong and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Pan Guangxue.

Addressing the event, H.E. Hor Namhong said Cambodia-China diplomatic relations were established under the wise leadership of Cambodia’s late King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk and former Chinese President H.E. Mao Zedong and Premier H.E. Zhou Enlai.

Since the day of the establishment, the relation and cooperation between the two countries have been developed dramatically, especially in the fields of investment, trade, tourism and culture, H.E. Hor Namhong said.

The Cambodian DPM also laid stress on the importance of the One-China Policy and thanked profoundly the Chinese government and people for their contribution to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.

For his part, H.E. Pan Guangxue also highlighted the development of Cambodia-China cooperation and friendship.
