Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, accepted the invitation to attend the 10th China-ASEAN Expo to be held in China’s Nanning City in September this year.
The invitation was extended to Samdech Techo Hun Sen by visiting H.E. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region’s CPC Committee, during their meeting here yesterday at the Peace Palace, H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters.
In the meeting, both sides pledged to further boost cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism for mutual benefits.
According to H.E. Peng Qinghua, the bilateral trade between Cambodia and Guangxi in 2012 increased by 15 percent to US$21 million if compared with that of 2011. Cambodia has attracted many Chinese investors from Guangxi to invest especially in the fields of agriculture and agro-industry, he added.
H.E. Peng Qinghua further spoke highly of the Cambodian prime minister’s endeavors to strengthen the relations between Cambodia and China as well as the cooperation between Cambodia and Guangxi.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen encouraged Cambodia and Guangxi to cooperate in other potential fields and urged for direct flights from Nanning city to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
The Cambodian premier expressed his satisfaction with the exchange of visits between Cambodian and Chinese students, stressing that it contributes not only to developing human resources, but also to enhancing the cooperation between the youths of both countries.
Earlier on the same day at the Ministry of Commerce, H.E. Peng Qinghua presided over the handover ceremony of 100 agricultural tractors to Cambodia.
The donation was made at the time when Cambodia and China are celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations and the China-Cambodia Friendship Year.
