Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Hor Namhong met here on May 27 with visiting Kuwaiti Director General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohammad Al-Roumi.
On the occasion, H.E. Hor Namhong told his guest of the firm stance of the Royal Government of Cambodia to support an initiative proposed by Russia and the U.S. to promote the negotiation between Syria’s government and all involved parties so as to resolve peacefully the conflict and find peace and stability for the Syrian people, H.E. Ouch Borith, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told reporters upon the meeting.
Cambodia always supports all initiatives as well as the UN resolutions to prevent the nuclear proliferation and arms race, but the country supports the use of nuclear power for peaceful purposes, underlined H.E. Ouch Borith.
Regarding the nuclear weapon tests conducted by North Korea recently, the Royal Government of Cambodia called for a strict implementation of the United Nations Security Council’s resolution, he added.
H.E. Hor Namhong also briefed his guest on the rapid development of Cambodia in all sectors, especially in the agricultural field, and he called on Kuwaiti investors to invest in Cambodia on this potential sector.
In reply, Mr. Mohammad Al-Roumi proposed the Cambodian side to look into an agreement on visa exemption for the diplomatic and official passport holders in order to further consolidate the relations between the two countries.
