Cambodian PM Meets Top Chinese Legislator and Former Chinese Premier

image001Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held yesterday separate talks with Chairman of the Standing image003Committee of the National People’s Congress of China H.E. Zhang Dejiang and Former Chinese Premier H.E. Wen Jiabao during his official visit in Beijing, China, according to the National Television of Cambodia (TVK).  

In his meeting with H.E. Zhang Dejiang, Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated the Communist Party of China on the great success of its 18th Congress and H.E. Zhang Dejiang on his election as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also spoke highly of the fruitful Cambodia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, and expressed Cambodia’s commitment to further enhance and expand its bilateral cooperation with China.

For his part, H.E. Zhang Dejiang highly appreciated Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s tireless efforts in boosting the bilateral relations between Cambodia and China.

The top Chinese legislator stressed that China values its traditional friendship with Cambodia and is committed to strengthen and expand the cooperation in all domains with Cambodia.

H.E. Zhang Dejiang accepted the Cambodian prime minister’s invitation to visit Cambodia in an appropriate time.

During the talk with H.E. Wen Jiabao, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed profound thanks to the former Chinese premier for his precious and active contribution to the development of Cambodia, saying that his name was recorded in the Cambodian history.

In reply, H.E. Wen Jiabao lauded the good relationship between the two countries, stressing that their ties of friendship and cooperation were established with mutual respect. He also accepted Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s invitation to pay a visit to Cambodia in an appropriate time.

Both sides also recalled the time when they met and worked together in the past ten years.
