Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Hor Namhong met here this morning with visiting Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), H.E. Khaled Ghanem Al-Ghaith.
During the meeting, H.E. Khaled Ghanem Al-Ghaith told H.E. Deputy Prime Minister of his discussion with Cambodian government ministries and institutions on the bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry and trade, H.E. Koy Kuong, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told reporters after the meeting.
Both sides also discussed the MoU on tourism, especially the direct flights from the UAE to Cambodia, he added.
In terms of oil and gas cooperation, H.E. Khaled Ghanem Al-Ghaith said the UAE will send its technical experts to Cambodia to discuss the drafting a MoU on technical assistance and cooperation in the field of oil and gas, the spokesperson underlined.
According to H.E. Khaled Ghanem Al-Ghaith, the UAE’s foreign minister will visit Cambodia in late February 2013 to strengthen and expand the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, H.E. Nor Namhong asked the UAE to send a business or investment delegation to Cambodia to explore the country’s investment potentiality.
Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates have established their diplomatic relations since 1994.
