Cambodia, Thailand Committed to Boost Stronger Ties

image001Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Hor Namhong and newly-appointed Thai Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Touchayoot Pakdi have reconfirmed their commitment to further boost the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides expressed their wishes to see the good cooperation in all fields, especially in politics, security, and economy, H.E. Koy Kuong, Spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation told reporters after the meeting here this morning between the Cambodian top diplomat and the newly-appointed Thai ambassador.

H.E. Touchayoot Pakdi pledged to do his best to deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries for mutual benefits. He also requested for an agreement on exemption of overlapping taxes.

In reply, H.E. Hor Namhong said Cambodia is considering this matter, the spokesperson said.

The meeting also touched on illegal logging along the border and the opening of Stung Both gate as a permanent international border gate for goods transportation, added the spokesperson.
