NA President Receives Credentials from Newly-Appointed Ambassador of Thailand

image001Newly-appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia H.E. Touchayoot Pakdi presented here on Tuesday credentials to National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Royal Representative of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

On the occasion, H.E. Touchayyoot Pakdi pledged to do his utmost to further strengthen the ties of friendship between Cambodia and Thailand, as well as to boost their bilateral cooperation in either ASEAN and international frameworks, Mr. Korm Kosal, Chief of Cabinet of Samdech Heng Samrin told reporters upon the meeting.

The Thai diplomat also vowed to promote the relationship between the legislative and executive bodies of the two nations through visit exchanges as well as to enhance the two peoples’ solidarity, added Mr. Korm Kosal.

Besides, he added, H.E. Touchayyoot Pakdi sought support from the Cambodian NA president to his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

In reply, Samdech Heng Samrin expressed warm welcome to the Thai ambassador and he was convinced that through H.E. Touchayyoot Pakdi’s diplomatic mission, the diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries will be further consolidated and expanded.

The Cambodian NA president called on both sides to continue to boost their friendship, solidarity and cooperation and to cooperate so as to achieve the ASEAN’s objective of establishing a community by 2015.
