Cambodian PM Receives Hanoi Delegation

image003Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met here yesterday at the Peace Palace with a visiting Vietnamese delegation from Hanoi led by H.E. Pham Quang Nghi, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee.

In the meeting, H.E. Pham Quang Nghi highly valued the rappid development in Cambodia and informed Samdech Techo Hun Sen of the fruitful cooperation between Hanoi and Phnom Penh, H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian prime minister said.

H.E. Pham Quang Nghi also expressed his deepest condolences to the Cambodian government, royal family and people over the demise of King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his profound thanks to Vietnam and encouraged both capital cities (Phnom Penh and Hanoi) to boost for more cooperation.

On the same day, the Hanoi delegation also paid a courtesy call on to Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, and held a bilateral talk with H.E. Kep Chuktema, Governor of Phnom Penh.

In the bilateral meeting with H.E. Kep Chuktema, the Vietnamese side said Hanoi will provide some US$2 million for school building construction and Phnom Penh’s development.

On the occasion, H.E. Pham Quang Nghi handed over 20 sets of computers to Phnom Penh Municipality.

The Hanoi delegation arrived in Cambodia on Dec. 12 for a three-day official visit.
