Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here this morning at the Peace Palace Mr. Pascal Lamy, Director-General of World Trade Organization (WTO) on the sidelines of the 21st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed profound thanks to Mr. Pascal Lamy for his presence at the ASEAN Global Dialogue and requested more talks with WTO on the protectionism. H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters after the talk.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister said the Least developed countries (LDCs) could become victims as the developing countries or LDCs are unable to export their products due to various barriers, while the flow of goods from developed countries is much easier, thus requiring further discussion, said the assistant.
For his part, Mr. Pascal Lamy highly valued the Cambodian prime minister’s remarks, saying that it is the right opinion that he will discuss in detail with H.E. Cham Prasidh, Cambodian Minister of Commerce.
Mr. Pascal Lamy arrived in Cambodia yesterday evening to attend the ASEAN Global Dialogue and other related events taking place on Nov. 20 in Phnom Penh.
