Cambodian Premier Congratulates Newly Re-elected U.S. President Barack H. Obama

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Barak H. Obama, who was re-elected President of the United States.

“On behalf of the Royal Government and the People of Cambodia, I have the great pleasure to extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on the occasion of your landslide victory in the recent presidential election,” Samdech Techo Hun Sen said in his letter dated Nov. 7.

“Your reelection is not only a proud moment for America but it is also a joy and pride of the peoples around the world,” he stressed.

“I am pleased to note that under your wise leadership, the bond of friendship between our peoples as well as the relations and cooperation between our two nations have been strengthened for mutual interests. I hope that our bilateral ties will be further enhanced during your second term of office, given the growing cooperation in various fields that we have at present,” he said.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also expressed welcome to the upcoming presence of the U.S. president at the upcoming ASEAN Summit and Related Summits this month.

“I look forward to welcoming you at the 4th ASEAN-U.S. Leaders’ Meeting, the 7th East Asia Summit (EAS), ASEAN Global Dialogue, as well as our bilateral meeting in Phnom Penh, later this month,” concluded the Cambodian premier.
