Cambodia, Australia Satisfied with Their Relationship

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia held on Monday a bilateral talk with his Australian counterpart H.E. Ms. Julia Gillard, on the sidelines of the 9th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Vientiane, Laos, reported a special envoy of the National Television of Cambodia (TVK).

Both premiers expressed their satisfaction with the rapid development of relations and cooperation between the two countries, said the report.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen highly valued the Australian government’s active role in the ASEAN-Australia Summit and the East Asia Summit. He also thanked Ms. Julia Gillard for her upcoming participation in the 21st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits scheduled to be held in Phnom Penh from Nov. 15-20.

The Cambodian prime minister also expressed his profound thanks to the Australian government for its cooperation with Cambodia in combating drug and human trafficking, cross-border crimes, particularly in training Cambodian human resources.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen further thanked his Australian counterpart for having sent a condolence message over the demise of Cambodia’s King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk.

According to the TVK’s special envoy, the two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues.
