Belarus has planned to set up a tractor and agricultural machinery assembly factory in Cambodia by 2014, H.E. Prima Viraly, Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus said in a meeting here yesterday with H.E. Keat Chhon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance.
This factory will not only for the domestic need, but also for export as Belarus-made tractors are well-known in many countries, he underlined.
For his part, H.E. Keat Chhon, welcomed this investment plan, saying that it is in conformity with the royal government’s policy in agricultural development, one of the prioritized sectors.
The Cambodian deputy prime minister also spoke highly of the close relationship and cooperation between the two countries and expressed profound thanks to Belarus for its support to the development of Cambodia in the past.
H.E. Keat Chhon further raised the economic and trade exchange between both countries, indicating that Cambodia has exported garment products and rubber to Belarus, and imported tractors and agricultural machinery from Belarus.
