PM Departs for the 33rd AIPA General Assembly in Indonesia

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen left here this morning for the 33rd General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Indonesia.

According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s press release issued yesterday, the 33rd AIPA General Assembly will take place in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia from Sept. 17 to 18.

As the chair of ASEAN, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will deliver his address at the opening ceremony of the 33rd AIPA General Assembly, indicated the press release.

Last week, Dr. Marzuki Alie, President of the House of the Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia and President of the 33rd AIPA General Assembly visited Cambodia and invited Samdech Techo Hun to this upcoming event.

H.E. Sry Thamrong, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister said at Phnom Penh International Airport before the departure of Samdech Techo Hun Sen that the meeting will be attended by delegates from the ASEAN member countries, and those from observer and partner countries including Australia, Belarus, Canada, China, Russia, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand … and the EU.

On Sunday, a high-ranking delegation of Cambodian National Assembly led by its President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei also departed here to join the 33rd AIPA General Assembly.
