Cambodia and Japan Signs US$ 54 Million Loan and Grant Aid Deal

The exchange notes on the extension of US$ 54 million grant aid and loan for the implementation the two projects signed today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The exchange notes was signed by H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and H.E. Masafumi Kuroki, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia and presided over by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

The first project loan up to the amount of US$ 53,300,000 for implementation of the west Tonle Sap Irrigation and Drainage rehabilitation for 12,000ha of rice fields and the second is grant aid US$ 700,000 for implementation of the project for improvement of education on equipment of department of geo resources and geotechnical engineering of Institute of Technology of Cambodia when Cambodia is going to extract natural resources especially mine for the country development.
