Lok Chumteav Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen received a title of Cambodian academician from the Royal Academy of Cambodia in a ceremony held at Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on July 25 in the presence of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
The title of academician was conferred on her following a royal decree signed on March 30 by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni.
In giving the title of academician, Lok Chumteav Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, president of Cambodia Red Cross, was recognized as an outstanding lady for her active role and her achievements in humanitarian activities.
Speaking at the event, Lok Chumteav Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen said the title given to her is not only an honor for her own and her family, but also the whole Cambodian citizen, mainly Cambodian women, because the title conferment was not made by chance, but being assessed thoroughly through the recognition for her endeavor in the cause of serving humanitarian works as core ones she like best.
She also briefed on her humanitarian works being done in the past.
After raising the saying of ancient Greek philosopher, Dr. Klot Thida, president of the royal academy of Cambodia said historically, in Nokor Phnom period Princess Liv Yi was the first outstanding lady, in Moha Nokor period Princess Indra Devi (Jayavaram’s wife) was the first outstanding lady, in Sangkun Reah Niyum time Queen Sisowath Kosamak Neariroth was the first outstanding lady, but in the 21st century the royal academy of Cambodia conferred the title on Lok Chumteav Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen as the first outstanding lady in Khmer national society.
