Australian OZ Minerals Company Finds 8.1 Million Tones of Gold Mineral

Australian OZ Minerals Company has found 8.1 million tones of gold mineral in Mondulkiri, a northeastern province of Cambodia.

This was made known at a press conference yesterday at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s headquarters in Phnom Penh by H.E. Sok Leng, Director General of the General Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.

OZ Minerals is one of the mines exploration companies, which have got license from the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Some 60 domestic and foreign companies from Australia, China, Vietnam, Korea etc. have been conducting research and exploration in areas with mining potential in the country, he said.

The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy is going to host an international conference on mining in collaboration with UNDP from May 26 to 27 under the chairmanship of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
