Cambodian King to Visit Japan in Mid-May

His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni will pay an official visit to Japan from May 16 to 20, 2010 at the invitation made by Emperor Akihito of Japan to enhance the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

During his stay in Japan, the Cambodian king will have a royal audience with their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, according a new release of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan will host a State Banquet in honour of the King.

Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will host a lunch in honour of the King.

 Japan is the biggest one who provided its assistance in the national rehabilitation and development in Cambodia. It also offered its assistance in a process of Khmer Rouge tribunal.
