Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with visiting Ms. Soraya Rodriguez Ramos, secretary of state for International Cooperation of Spain here on Feb. 25.
A memorandum on boosting the relationship and cooperation between Cambodia and Spain was also singed in the meeting.
The deputy prime minister said he hailed the decision made by Spain to open its embassy in Cambodia as the promotion of the relationship and cooperation between the two nations.
He recalled the time-honored relation between the two countries and also thanked the Spanish government for the assistance to the national development in Cambodia.
He considered the signing between the two countries as an important one for enhancing the relation between the two nations in the region as well as in the world.
The agreement also was related to the implementation of millennium development goals, the prevention of poverty, the sustainability of development, the promotion of human rights and freedom with equity.
