PM Leaves for the Opening Ceremony of SEA Games in Laos

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, left here this morning for Laos to pay a working visit and to attend the opening ceremony of the 25th Southeast Asian Games.

According to Sry Thamrong, delegate minister attached to the prime minister, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold bilateral talks with his Lao counterpart Bouasone Bouphavanh and pay courtesy visit to Lao President Choummaly Sayasone before the opening ceremony of the SEA Games.

The Cambodian delegation will return home on Dec. 10.

Cambodia has sent some 90 athletes to participate in 19 of the 25 SEA Games’ sport events.

In late November 2009, Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh paid an official visit to Cambodia, during which both sides agreed to determine that the temporary demarcation markers already planted will become the definitive ones, to finish the remaining 12 percent of border markers’ planting, to strengthen and expand the economic cooperation between both countries and to increase the number of scholarships respectively.
