Cambodian government has announced the refusal to extradite former Thai Prime Minister Thanksin Shinawatra at Thai government’s request if he wants to come and visit Cambodia for his duty performance.
The announcement was made in a statement by a government spokesman on November 4.
Cambodian government will not extradite the ex-Thai premier because he was already appointed as an economic advisor to the Royal government of Cambodia and the private advisor to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, said the statement.
Former Thai Prime Minister Thanksin Shinawatra was appointed as economic advisor to the Government and the Cambodian premier’s private advisor at the Cambodian premier’s request in a royal degree signed on October 27 by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, said the statement.
The Cambodian royal government adheres the ties of friendship and cooperation in all fields between the two countries, regarding a permission granted to the ex-Thai premier for staying in Cambodia as a gesture of kindness, it said
