PM Receives Newly Appointed Japanese Ambassador

2[1]Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here on Sept. 30 newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Masafumi Kuroki.

The Japanese diplomat noted the remarkable development in Cambodia, saying that it shows the right leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen who has brought peace and development to the country, Ieng Sophalet, assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the talks.

Mr. Masafumi Kuroki has visited Cambodia three times already, but it is his first ever diplomatic mission in the kingdom, Ieng Sophalet added.

In reply, the Cambodian prime minister recalled Japan’s important role in bringing peace and development to Cambodia. He also asked the newly appointed Japanese ambassador to further encourage Japanese investors and tourists to Cambodia and help train Cambodia’s human resource.

Earlier on Sept. 29, Mr. Masafumi Kuroki presented his credentials to His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

On the occasion, the Cambodian monarch warmly welcomed the diplomatic mission of the Japanese ambassador and expressed profound thanks to the Japanese Emperor, government and people for their assistance in contribution to the rehabilitation and development of Cambodia.

For his parts, Mr. Masafumi Kuroki is committed to do his utmost to further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
