NA President Receives S. Korean President’s Special Envoy


Phnom Penh, May 22, 2009

National Assembly President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin met here on Thursday visiting special envoy of the president of the Republic of Korea M. Song Kwang-Ho.

On the occasion, Samdech Heng Samrin warmly welcomed the visit of Mr. Song, stressing that it is very important in consolidating the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two countries and peoples.

He deeply thanked the South Korean Assembly, government and people for their support and cooperation for the development of Cambodia. He further wished both countries to continue their cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and investment.

For his parts, the visiting special envoy of the South Korean president said it was his first ever visit to Cambodia. He expressed his satisfaction to the relations between the two countries, the two legislative and executive bodies.

 He conveyed best wishes from President Mr. Lee Myung-bak, to the Cambodian National Assembly president.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mr. Song also held talks with Cambodian Premier Samdech Techo Hun Sen. In the meeting, he highly praised Samdech Hun Sen’s wise leadership and his key role in establishing the diplomatic ties between Cambodia and South Korea.
